Weather Related School Closures
Information regarding school closures can be found in the Parent Manual that each family receives at the beginning of the school year. Parents/Guardians will be notified by the Remind Communication Text App of a school closure. Only those parents NOT LINKED to the Remind App will receive a phone call of school closures in the morning so it is imperative to keep your contact information at the school up to date.
HTNC follows the Sunrise School Divisional Policy “Divisional Procedure: Weather Related School Closure” with regard to weather-related school closures. In short, the policy indicates that school will be closed due to Extreme Road Conditions (i.e., when Sunrise area roads are deemed “Travel Not Advised” by roads are unsafe for all vehicular travel) and/or Cold Weather Conditions (i.e., temperatures are -35 degrees Celsius or colder [without wind chill] or -45 degrees or colder wind chill).
